Creative Leadership

At The Conscious Non Conformist, we believe that creative leadership, or Leadership “Out of the Box”, can strengthen individual awareness, help develop a commitment to a purpose, and lead to a more powerful, healthy and harmonious person and culture.

Corporate culture is at the heart of a company’s survival and success. Culture also drives the talent pool a company can attract. Company perks certainly help, but it is really about engaging employees. Employees want to grown, learn, develop, and be valued for their ideas and diverse perspectives.

“70% of U.S. employees are not engaged at work. Worldwide, that figure jumps to 85%.”  Gallup State of the Global Workplace, 2017

“Half of employees are actively searching for a new job.”  Gallup State of the Global Workplace, 2017

We found the following 2019 Workplace Trends (Dan Schawbel, Forbes, “10 Workplace Trends You’ll See In 2018-2019″) particularly salient as drivers for creating forward-looking company cultures. What do you think? Please contact us at connect@theconsciousconformist.com!

Current Workplace Trends 2018-19

    • The aging workforce and associated succession planning – approximately 3 out of 4 Americans plan to work past the traditional retirement age.
      • Turnover may increase with younger workers due to fewer opportunities.
    • Employee burnout results in high turnover – technology has expanded the workday (for the same compensation), leading to higher turnover and costs.
      • Replacing an employee costs on average 21% of his/her annual pay.
    • Investment in non-traditional education – the availability of third parties offering courses, credentials and certifications is a significant game changer.
      • LinkedIn Learning, Coursera, edX, and Udemy are several examples.
    • Artificial Intelligence (AI) and robots become ingrained and co-exist in the workplace.
      • Predictions are that AI will be part of nearly every new device and service.
    • Leaders encourage more human interaction – more companies are discouraging remote working programs, as well as designing work spaces to promote relationships, collaboration, and idea sharing/creativity.
    • Financial and mental wellness is a priority – workers are stressed, burned out, and exhausted, which directly affects their health, job satisfaction and productivity.
      • With the explosion of big data techniques, HR can empirically connect the dots between a positive, healthy, productive employee and actual revenue.
